Recently why going to a temple 50 Km away from my city on the way I saw Chienese Fast food Stall on the outskirts of a small village. I was surprised, Chienese food in Village?? and if he was there it means he had customers. That made me realized how Bharat is Open minded to Change, but does it applies to India???
I kept on wondering in Bharat you will find ppl driving cars, bikes, scooty and bicycle but does in India you find ppl riding bullock cart, horse, camel cart etc???
People in Bharat knows how to cook chowmein, Manchurian, Haka noodles, but do people in Metroes, Big Cities of India know how to cook bajri ki roti with hands without using roller pins??
In Bharat you will find people using microwave, oven and other appliances but can THE INDIANS cook on fireplaces with logs, coals or Cowdung Cake???
In Bharat, people can speak, read and write English, Hindi and their mother tongue, but can same be applied to people of India.???
I have stayed in small towns, and was groomed to be Indian and Bharatiya at the same time. So I find it very felexible to convert myself into Bharatiya or Indian as and when required. But I find it really hurting when Few who have no connection with Bharat, who have been born and brought up in India, for whom visiting Punjabi Dhaba, Gujarati Thali, South Indian restaurant is a luxuary always critizing every person who talks about Bharat.
What is Bharat?? Is Bharat a chapter in History Text books? Is Bharatiyata an outdated concept?? Is being Indian only way to survive in this world?
The same sect of people talk about moral values, good character, equality to women etc. but are ashamed to expect the fact that all this existed in their own Backyard for centuries. Preserved by Bharatiya for centuries.
These people seemed to be very much cut off from the reality. They need to visit bharat where people are more modern than in India. If they think very revealing clothes is modernity, vanvasi, villagers in many villages of India wear clothes that these "Indians" may find sensous, sexual etc. But for Bharatiya it is something they have been wearing for centuries, and it does not arouse wrong desire in men of that area.
If modernity for "THE INDIANS" is men- women dancing togather, then they should visit Bharat, in majority of folk dances, men and women dance togather, only thing even while dancing their intention is to enjoy dance while respecting dignity of each other.
If modernity for "THE INDIANS" is speaking English, then in Bharat people speak three languages not just one and that too foreign language.
If modernity for "THE INDIANS" marrying person of one's own choice, then visit vanvasi areas, there is freedom to choose life partner, living with him/her, if found compatible return back and inform familes get marry and live happily...
In Bharat, divorce and remarriage is quite easier unlike common perception that it is taboo... A particular community or society is not whole of Bharat... Bharat is 90% total Indian Population.
Bharat is flexible, bharat is ready for change, Bharat is ready to embrace India, but India is not at all ready. India has its own perception about Bharat. India is ashamed of Bharat but its not other way round.
As msg in one of the advt. going on television now a days," Jo sadak saher ki aur jaati hai woh hi sadak Gaun ki taraf bhi aati hai" so aptly applies to India... Hope few handful of Indians sitting in AC studio, AC drawing room take out time to understand cultural heritage, moral values and openess of Bharat
